July 21, 2016 Session of Dr. Sketchy's in Las Vegas

Art Monkey's,

This month is a special Dr. Sketchy's Las Vegas session on July 21, 2016, as it is the 5 year anniversary since I took the reigns to bring you Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School, here in Las Vegas;  and it is my birthday month!

Due to these amazing numbers (age not being mentioned), I have recruited one of the BEST Femcee's in the Burlesque community, and well.  Anywhere:

Ms. Blanche Debris!  I am so excited to let her run the event, as I relax to get my photography back in to the scene as well as some drawing of my own.  She also may model if you give her enough encouragement to do so.  I know I will be hooting and hollering.

Our main model for the evening: Dee Dee Cubcake and another model TBA.

We will also have many contests and prizes, a collective art easel for any artist to paint on which has has been a tradition the last few years (hoping to auction it off later this year - so get in the spirit to participate) as well as CAKE!  If there is anything that will lure you out to the festivities, may it be CAKE!  Disclosure; it will be an amazing Vegan Cake from Vegan Bites.

Also, I want to give a HUGE and MASSIVE shout out to our friend, a talented, an amazing artist who has helped me create a few flyers.  Mr. DeArdis Hurts please visit his site to see more of his artwork and/or commission his services.

I cannot wait for the Third Thursday of this month from 8 to 11pm at the Artifice.

Cheers!

June 16, 2016 Las Vegas Session. A June Bride

Good Morning Art Monkey's,

Last night's session at the Artifice was so much fun. Thank you so much for all who came out for inspiration and motivation with their art.   Veronica Manhattan definitely knows how to pose for the artists, especially while wearing a gorgeous wedding gown that took over an entire stool.  Not to mention the second gown which showed just a little more… ahem...

If you'd like to see more from Veronica Manhattan and her out and about shenanigans, check out the show she produces and where she may be next on this page here.  If you ever do get a chance to see her perform, you won't regret it.

Below, I'd like to share some photos/sketches from a couple of last night's artists, Steven Horlock and Ashanti Ghania.  So far, they were the only ones to share with us their amazing talent.

Crazy 2016 Year So Far

2016 has been one crazy busy year so far!

Let me first start by saying how so very sorry I am for not keeping this blog up to date, like I was hoping for last year.  Between full time job, part -time photography job and going back to school part time to earn my business degree, my time management went out the window for blogging.

At the moment I am on a summer break and re-organizing my time management calendar in order to fit everything in, so at least you faithful followers to Facebook and twitter will get a chance to see past sessions and hear about upcoming sessions.   I am also going to be up to date on my own photography blog MHA Moments

The sessions this 2016 year, thus far, have been incredibly fun. Beginning the year with Anastasia Sinn who amazed our art community with some eye opening metal through skin and awesome gas mask in chic fashion.  (photos to be edited in later).

February paid tribute to one of the most amazing iconic musicians, who had suddenly past away the month before,  David Bowie.  Jyl Agustin was our amazing model, who not only captured David Bowie from Ziggy Stardust days, but portrayed the awesome Jareth the Goblin King.  You can see a little video clip from Periscope here.

We then whipped towards March and had the amazing Snakebabe and JP Nomi Malone as our models.  They both came up with sexy and scary costumes to pose in.

April session, we had new comers to Las Vegas, but not new to modeling Suzil Von and Tommy Lazer.  They are slowly, but steadily getting a fun and amazing reputation here in sin city for burlesque scene and our awesome community.  They definitely will be back again and you can check out Suzil every Wednesday at the Downtown Crown' mid week menagerie.

Our May session had a last minute fill in (cancelation at very last minute), but what an amazing Filler she was, Lolita Haze The Nymphet of Burlesque she came out to model in the clutch and I am so thankful for her bumpin and grindin performance she shared with the Art Monkey's.  Her modeling expertise are phenominal and she is welcome ANY time.  You can check her site out for upcoming burlesque shows she will be performing at or if she hosts her very own show.

Tonight's, June 16, 2016 session will have Veronica Manhattan, a June Bride.

So come on out and get your Drinking, drawing and debauchery on from 8 to 11pm at the Artifice

I hope to make an update once a month or week, or…

Upcoming Sessions:

July 21, 2016 (birthday session)
August (cosplay - theme to be announced)

until next time...

Dr. Sketchy's Las Vegas Grease Session Photos 2014

It's like Grease Lightening!

Back in 2014, one of the sessions, I just couldn't resist to do was Grease!  The epic Musical Movie that made me realize, I actually like musicals (keep it on the down low).

I was driving towards my new job, contemplating the new themes needed for the several months left in 2014 year when the radio kicked in with Summer-nights.  BAM, just like that, I started looking for models and excited for my playlist.

Now the Art Monkey's who are amazing and come each and every month, know how much I love making my playlist, and several have told me they enjoy it thoroughly. So I leaped to iTunes and bought all my favorites as well as some music from the 2nd movie.  Yes Grease 2.  The mix was from Grease soundtrack music, to 80's hair nation, to 70's and 60's rock.  The music flowed while our star models of the night D Bomb and Sterling Raye Kennedy brought the poses for the amazing Art Monkey's to sketch.

Below are photographs I took of the action.  Enjoy.

Until Next time.  Don't forget Dr. Who coming February 19, 2015 at the Artifice 8pm to 11pm

IT'S BEEN AWHILE

Good Thursday to all of you Art Monkey's!

I do hope all is well with every single one of you.

It has been a crazy busy year and I apologize for my lapse in updates on this blog and sharing with you all the awesome Dr. Sketchy's Anti Art School Las Vegas sessions we have been having.  I'll make this post short and sweet with lots of photos and sketches from the past several months.  From Zombies Vs. Cheerleaders that just went down a week ago back, to last year's Nightmare before Christmas, please have fun viewing the incredible talent I've been honored to witness every single month.

Also to keep you in the loop, next month on June 20th, Cha Cha Velour will be our featured model as well as Aya Fontaine.

July 18, 2013, we will have a Candy Land theme with the Talents of Moana Marie and Luna-mama Props galore will be had.

August 15, 2013, I am handing the themed session reigns over to a very dear friend, Jacob The Awesome (as I call him) since I will be on vacation and I don't want to fall short of that session.  He is amazing with his props and costumes, so I can't wait to see what he comes up with and who will be featured.

September I am hoping to put together a Johnny Depp themed night with the talents of Michael Gifford and La Rosa Muerta  Edward Scissorhands got nothing on this talented seamstress Burlesque dancer!

Without Further adieu (PHOTOS)! By the talented Stephanie Bonsato, Scott McKeeve and if you are patient for the next post (while uploading come to realize several of my photos are still in Raw format) I will make the next post for tomorrow.
